Green rider-owned transportation to empower and employ PWDs

The FTA should provide funding assistance for person s who are disabled (PWDS) to secure and provide their own solar-powered accessible and regular vehicles owned by them for provision of service to supplement existing service in order to accommodate stranded riders who cannot get picked up by wheelchair taxi or paratransit, riders with respiratory allergies and bone and joint disabilities and to transport to areas not covered by paratransit and Metra trains on weekends and evenings to special events, church, conferences, work, shopping, healthcare for example. The green transit service would be owned by PWDS and employ as a priority qualified un- or underemployed PWDs, youth, seniors, persons who have low income, ex-offenders and vets, and experienced drivers and dispatchers with an OJT program for those aspiring to be dispatchers or drivers. For the Soular Car Project, IMPRUVE proposes an assembly plant to assemble solar-powered cars that sit on gold cart frames, too. See archives at and
